ABOUT US
Our Vision
To demonstrate God’s abundant love in action by making His grace and mercy known to all people through acts of kindness, and by sharing the simple gospel of Jesus Christ. We want people to come to know God as the loving Father that He is, and that He desires a loving relationship with each one of us. We want to bring Him glory, honour and praise by making His love known to a hurting world by providing the poor with the means for education, food, healing, water and shelter.

Our Mission
Our desire is to seek God’s face and to be immersed in the fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. We want to be carried along by His power as we share the simple gospel of Jesus Christ and serve the poor with radical love. We desire to be filled to overflowing with His love and presence daily, with total dependence on God, so that we may be able to reveal God’s abundant love to a hurting world. To willingly lay down our lives in total surrender to Jesus Christ, so that we may be His hands and feet around the world wherever the Holy Spirit leads us.
Abiding in Christ

We focus on loving people and look to God for all our needs. We know that fruitfulness comes when we surrender ourselves and abide in the true vine Jesus Christ (John 1:1-4; 15:1-17).
We recognize that we need to abide in God rather than strive on our own, without Him we wither away. God is our provider (Philippians 4:19; Matthew 6:31-33). We give God all the praise and glory for what He has done and will continue to do. We are mere servants.

God is the one who does the work and we just come along for the ride and watch God do His miracles!

Our History
Notre Amo Missions Society was founded in Vancouver, British Columbia Canada in April, 2018. We are a grassroots non-denominational Christian organization. Our purpose is to reveal God's love around the world by helping to alleviate poverty and share the message of Jesus Christ.
The name Notre Amo comes from a play on words of an Ekeguisii expression 'Notoro Amo' which means 'we are together.' Ekegusii is the tribal language of the Gusii (also known as Kisii) people living in the Kisii highlands in Western Kenya in the province of Nyanza.
It is
It is here in this region, among the Guisii people, that Notre Amo Missions has it's primary focus in helping the poor and preaching the gospel.

At the core of reaching out to the poor are Pastor Jared Makindiba and his wife Grace Kerubo (pictured here). Since 2010 they had the vision to make a difference in their community in Sengera, Kenya. Their first endeavour was to provide education for impoverished children in their village through Gracious Makindiba Memorial School. They are the administrators of this elementary school which includes Early Childhood Development classes and provides two hot meals a day through the School Meal Program. They also teach at this school. Pastor Jared is the senior pastor of their local church.
Since January of 2018 Notre Amo Missions has worked alongside this amazing couple in their village to help alleviate poverty and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. We reach out to their community with God's love and compassion by funding some programs and projects to help the poor (see projects).

Servants of God
Pastor Benard and his wife Sarah, pictured here, are two amazing servants of God. They have the compassionate heart of Christ and love to serve their community.

Sarah and Benard oversee the HIV/AIDS Program which includes Home Based Care and a food distribution program to help feed those living with HIV/AIDS. They also oversee and manage the Sewing Project. A main component of the Sewing Project is helping impoverished women, particularly those who are victims of domestic abuse, widowed, or single parents.

Pastor Benard is very active in Evangelism with a heart on fire to preach the gospel wherever God leads him. He also serves as a Community Policing Member for Nyaisero Unit as the Cluster Vice Chairman. We are very blessed to have these two fine people on the team!

Statement of Faith
We believe...
God
• God is three in one: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is the Great I AM. He has no beginning or end. He is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient (John 1:1; 8:58; 10:30; Matthew 28:19-20; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6; Ephesians 4:4-6). God is love and He demonstrated His love by sending His one and only Son that we might live through Him (1 John 4:8-10).
• Jesus Christ is God. God took on flesh and dwelt among humankind as the incarnate Jesus Christ (John 1:1-2, 14; 8:58; Hebrews 1:2-4) His human birth was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary (Luke 1:26-33) and therefore He is called God’s one and only begotten Son (John 3:16-17; Matthew 3:17).
• Jesus died on the cross to redeem humankind from sin (Romans 3:22-24; 5:6-11). He was buried then resurrected on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). No one gets to the Father accept through Him (John 14:6).
The Believer
• Salvation is a free gift of God offered to everyone. Anyone who accepts Jesus as their personal saviour is saved. Salvation cannot be earned, it is by Grace that a person is saved by faith alone in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-10; John 3:16-17; 14:6; Act 4:10-12; 1 Timothy 2:5).
• When a person is saved they are spiritually regenerated (born again) by the Holy Spirit and become a new creation and inherit eternal life and entry into the kingdom of God (2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Titus 3:4-7; John 3:3-8).
• A saved person is adopted into God’s family as a spiritual son or daughter and inherit eternal life through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit testifies that they are God’s child (Romans 8:15-16; 1 John 5:9-13).
• Believers Baptism is undergoing full water immersion. Baptism itself is not salvation, it is a public declaration that outwardly demonstrates that a person has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour symbolizing death to the old life and resurrection to new life in Jesus Christ (Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19-20).
The work of the Holy Spirit
• At the moment of salvation a believer is indwelt with the Holy Spirit who also seals their salvation, guarantying their inheritance into the kingdom of God. This is distinct and different from the gifts of the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 1:13-14; 2 Corinthians 5:5).
• Spiritual gifts are given by the Holy Spirit who makes these gifts available to every believer in the body of Christ to edify the church and enables believers to speak in tongues for personal edification (Romans 12:4-8: 1 Corinthians 12:1-11; 14:1-4).
• The Holy Spirit is being poured out on all people (believers) in these last days and imbues the believer with power in order to be a witness to the nations by sharing the gospel (Acts 1;8; 2:17-18) along with signs and wonders as evidence of God’s presence with the believers (Acts 4:30-31; Mark 16:15-18).
• The whole Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit (God breathed). It is the written infallible word of God which has power and authority. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Hebrews 10:12).
The Church
• The Church is the body of Christ, regardless of denomination, which is formed of all those who have entered into a covenant relationship with Jesus Christ by accepting Him as their personal Saviour and Lord and have been born again by the Holy Spirit. The Lord Jesus Christ is the head of the Church (Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 1:18).
• The gifts of the offices of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers are still in operation in the church today. They are appointed by Jesus Christ as servants to the body of Christ to prepare God’s people for works of service, building up the church, and helping them to grow in faith, unity and maturity in Christ (Ephesians 4:11-13; 1 Corinthians 12:28).
• Jesus Christ will return to collect His bride, the Church. Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and He will rule forever. There will be no end to His kingdom (John 14: 1-3; Acts 1:11; Luke 1:32-33; Daniel 7:13-14).

CORE VALUES

1. Glorifying God. Not to us, but to God be the glory (Psalm 15:1). To never bring any self-glorification or church glorification, recognizing that we (and the church) exist to glorify God for who He is (Matthew 6:9-10).

2. Keeping our focus on God so that we may be His ‘presence carriers’. Chasing after God to pursue intimacy with Him. By praying unceasingly, praising Him in all things, and becoming perpetual vessels of worship we will be filled with Him and be able to carry His presence to others (Hebrews 3:1; Colossians 2:7-8; 3:1-2).

3. Honouring God by Imitating Him in a life consistent with God’s abundant love and grace (Ephesians 5:1-2) by loving ALL people without judgment or discrimination regardless of their background or identity (Colossians 3:11; Galatians 3:26-29; Romans 14:10-13).

4. Honouring Jesus Christ by whatever we do ‘whether in word or deed, that we do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him’ so that all our words spoken and deeds done will glorify God and edify others, especially the poor (Colossians 3:17).

5. Honoring the Holy Spirit who lives in us by walking in step with the fruit of His character (Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-control), in our interaction with those who we work with and people we serve (Galatians 5:22-23).
6. Living a life of Fire! We know we can do nothing without the fire of the Holy Spirit. Jesus told us that we shall receive ‘power’ when the Holy Spirit comes upon us. A ministry without the fire of the Holy Spirit is a lifeless ministry and without effect. Holy Spirit is our organizer, CEO, fuel and power who gives us the ‘dead raising’ power to do His work on earth (Acts 1:8).
7. Honoring others before ourselves in humility, showing them respect, love and patience in all that we do, pursuing compassion and forgiveness (Philippians 2:3-4; Colossians 3:12-14).
8. To serve Christ in ‘righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit because anyone who serves Christ this way is pleasing to God and men’. To make ‘every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification within the Society and to those whom God leads us to serve (Romans 14:17-19) so that they too may experience His joy and peace in abundance (Colossians 3:12-16).
